About the role 



NFU Mutual is one of the leading general insurance and financial services companies in the UK. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager to join our Group Internal Audit Team. This Manager will be aligned to the Group s Strategy and Change Teams ensuring that robust 3rd line audit work is performed across appropriate change programmes and assigned Head Office departments (such as Group Strategy and Group Change).  





As an Audit Manager you ll be operating within the Group Internal Audit Charter with responsibility for developing and implementing the risk-based Audit Plan assigned to you. This plan is derived from the audit universe for your assigned business areas. You will be responsible to manage and lead a team of auditors to ensure the delivery of audits are in accordance with departmental quality standards, SLAs and best practice.

About you 



It s essential that you have:  







  • Significant knowledge and experience of planning audits, assessing risks and controls, designing audit programmes to reflect the operational and business environment and knowledge/ experience of relevant regulatory frameworks.  




  • Proven operational / post qualification experience, ideally gained through interaction with Strategy and Change business areas.  




  • Are cognisant of relevant international standards and quality benchmarks governing internal audit practice, including internal audit code of ethics.  




  • Ability to independently lead and manage a team of auditor  







You will also:  







  • Have the ability to think independently and provide constructive challenge at management level across a range of audits in the relevant business area.  




  • Be comfortable working in ambiguity and concurrently managing a portfolio of audits / staff to deliver audits to time.  




  • Be cognisant of relevant international standards and quality benchmarks governing internal audit practice, including internal audit code of ethics.  




  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail as well as team first approach.  







Essential Qualifications: - You re a Chartered Internal Auditor or Chartered Accountant (or equivalent)
