Local authority in the Northamptonshire area are currently looking for an experienced building control surveyor for an initial period of three months.

Main Responsibilities:
* Deal with a varied caseload of building regulation applications with the emphasis on more complex applications.
* Ensuring that allocated building projects are constructed and designed to comply with Building Regulation, Standards and relevant Acts.
* Inspection of building works and associated tasks under the regulations and relevant Acts.
* Keep full and accurate records and prepare detailed reports on all aspects of regulated work.
* To stand in for the Principal Building Control Surveyor and in exceptional circumstances the Building Control Manager during absence, as required, to ensuring the day-to-day supervision of the service.
* Assist with the day-to-day training and supervision of Building Control Surveyors, Assistants and trainees.
* Examination and consultation of plans deposited under the Building Regulations or under the scheme of the Local Authority National Type Approval Confederation.
* Responsibility for ensuring that Partner Authority applications are administered and checked according to the LABC Partner Authority Scheme.
* To deal with the investigation and resolution of breaches of the Building Regulations and relevant Acts.
* To represent the Council in court and give evidence on breaches of the Building Regulations and relevant Acts.

Inside IR35
55 an hour ( Negotiable )
37 hours per week
3 months initially ( Likely to be extended )
