Our client is a comprehensive engineering, architecture, construction, environmental, and consulting solutions firm originating from the United States. With a legacy spanning over 125 years, their mission is singular to ensure the success of their clients. While deeply rooted in the US, their UK venture focuses prominently on Electricity Transmission & Distribution, marking a new and successful chapter in their operations.



The UK branch has recently secured significant contracts, including a framework agreement with National Grid for substation projects ranging from 5m to 50m and a framework with SSEN for projects up to 100m. Operating out of modern offices in central Birmingham, the client is poised for rapid growth and success in the UK, with a dedicated team of experts in the field of Transmission & Distribution.



Job Summary:



The Site Supervisor will assist the site manager in overseeing on-site activities, managing subcontractor interactions, and providing essential feedback. The role involves a 2-year project with a an initial 6-month contract likely to extend for the full period. Job duties of the Site Supervisor include ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, adherence to setting-to-work procedures, and delivering works within the specified schedule while upholding high health and safety standards. Responsibilities also encompass producing timely reports, offering supervision to maintain production levels, continuous skills development, and supporting clients to meet or exceed agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).



Key Responsibilities:




  1. Ensure CDM regulations compliance.

  2. Enforce setting-to-work procedures.

  3. Deliver works according to the program with a focus on health and safety.

  4. Provide timely reports and information.

  5. Supervise and guide staff and subcontractors effectively.

  6. Maintain personal skill and knowledge levels.

  7. Perform additional duties as directed by the management team.

  8. Comply with Company HSQE and welfare policies.

  9. Support clients and achieve or surpass agreed KPIs.

  10. Promote and capture best practices within the business.

  11. Lead by example in health, safety, quality, and environmental management.

  12. Ensure and maintain quality standards throughout the project, assisting in generating as-built drawings.

  13. Assist in implementing Safe Systems of Work, including issuing Permits to Dig.

  14. Set others to work and monitor tasks/projects.



Requirements:




  • Full UK driving license.

  • SSE CAT1, CAT2 & CAT3 authorisations.

  • IOSHH Managing Safely, SMSTS, or SSSTS.

  • IOSH environmental or equivalent.

  • CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the T&D industry in an M&E role, preferably on SSEN sites.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • HSG47.

  • First Aid at Work.



Desirable:




  • HNC/HND in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Formal Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical training.

  • Impressed Voltage training.

  • Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience.



Rate -                   350 per day limited company with an indicative outside IR35 determination



The successful Site Supervisor is required to furnish a seven-year work history and undergo a DBS check.
